ResearchPoint Global Expands and Strengthens Executive Management Team

ResearchPoint Global (RPG), a privately-held full service contract research organization (CRO), announced that Bill Taaffe will be joining RPG’s executive management team as corporate development officer. This brings together two recognized veterans, John Farinacci and Bill Taaffe, with close to 80 years of combined experience in the healthcare and CRO industries.

Taaffe’s tenure with the company began Sept. 18. “I am pleased to join a company that I greatly respect and with such a distinguished reputation and a tremendous future in the CRO Industry,” he said.

Taaffe, a veteran in his field with over 40 years of experience within the pharmaceutical and CRO industry, was a founding member of ICON Clinical Research. He held the position of president and CEO, North America, spending nearly two decades with ICON.
 
“Being able to add a recognized industry leader like Bill to an already exceptionally strong team speaks volumes to the credibility and reputation RPG enjoys in our industry. Prior to ICON, Taaffe spent two years with Circa Pharmaceuticals, two years with Bioresearch, and 18 years with The Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, serving as CEO, United States. Since leaving ICON, Taaffe has continued to work on a number of boards of life science companies.
 
“I’ve been in this industry for a long time and have had the pleasure of collaborating with John on many occasions over the years. Following a call with John I realized that retirement was not for me, just yet. John joked about riding off into the sunset and closing out our careers together. It was an offer I could not refuse,” said Taaffe.
